Chasing Twisters — Delta Rae

This song packs a punch. I’ve just finished my first week of graduate school, and I am definitely overwhelmed. When I listen to this song, I am transported. The percussion in the intro gets my blood flowing, and I can imagine myself in an old western movie, pistol on my hip. Usually I’m facing off the hundreds of pages of reading that I have yet to do for class.

I first found Delta Rae through TransPose, the dance collective I was in during undergrad, and I haven’t looked back. Their blend of off the beaten path percussion and atypical harmonies blows me away each time I listen to one of their songs. If you’re interested in more, check them out here. I highly recommend Dance in the Graveyards, Morning Comes, and Bottom of the River.

Have a song or an artist you think I would enjoy? What do you think of this song? Let me know in the comments.
